Touchscreen Protectors
Custom anti-glare polyester overlays that protect high-value touchscreen terminals from scratches, wear and impact. Custom-cut, easy-peel and made in Brisbane.
Protect the screen, not just the phone
We are often asked if we make the thin films sold for phone screens - we do not. We manufacture rugged industrial touchscreen protector overlays from MacDermid Autotype polyester, the same durable material we use for our graphic overlay panels, designed to safeguard your touchscreen interface from scratches and wear in the harshest environments.
From Topcon agricultural guidance displays in the cab to 19-inch industrial panel PCs and medical devices, a protector can be fitted to any standard terminal and replaced in seconds with an easy-peel adhesive - so downtime is never an issue.
How a protector is built
A touchscreen protector is a precision-cut overlay of hard-coated anti-glare polyester. It is die or laser cut to match your display exactly, to engineering tolerances of plus or minus 0.2mm, so it sits flush without interfering with capacitive or resistive touch.
Any borders, masking or branding are reverse-printed on the second surface, so the graphics sit under the hard coat and cannot be scratched or cleaned off. An easy-peel 3M adhesive holds the protector in place and lets it be removed and replaced cleanly.
The result is a sacrificial layer: the protector wears the scratches, scuffs and impacts so the expensive terminal underneath stays pristine, and swapping a worn protector takes seconds.
Reid produced a custom touchscreen protector overlay for Integrated Technology Partners' i-PC 19-inch industrial panel PC. Cut to precise tolerances with an anti-glare polyester face, it shields a high-value 19-inch touchscreen from scratches and wear.
The easy-peel adhesive means a scuffed protector is swapped on site in seconds, keeping the terminal in service where downtime is not an option.
Capabilities & design options
A protector is simple in principle and precise in execution. Here is what goes into one.
Anti-glare polyester
MacDermid Autotype hard-coated polyester, with anti-glare and anti-reflective options for readability.
Custom-cut to fit
Die or laser cut to match any standard terminal, to engineering tolerances of plus or minus 0.2mm.
Capacitive & resistive
Designed to work with both capacitive and resistive touchscreens without impairing touch response.
Easy-peel 3M adhesive
Clean removal and replacement on the shop floor in seconds, with no terminal downtime.
Reverse-printed borders
Coloured borders, masking and corporate branding printed second-surface so the ink cannot scratch off.
Sacrificial protection
The protector takes the scratches, scuffs and impacts so the expensive terminal underneath does not.
Bulk & spares
Order in bulk for a fleet of terminals, or keep spares on hand for when the unthinkable happens.
Harsh environments
Built to withstand demanding industrial, outdoor, agricultural and clinical environments.
Australian made
Designed and cut in Brisbane, from the same materials as our graphic overlays.
Diversionary Therapy Technologies makes interactive distraction-therapy devices. Reid manufactured the custom touchscreen protector for the device - a rounded, reverse-printed overlay shaped to the housing.
The protector keeps the touchscreen scratch-free, wipe-clean and hygienic in a demanding healthcare setting, and can be replaced without sending the device away.
Custom-cut to any terminal
Send us your display and we cut a protector to match, to plus or minus 0.2mm, with optional coloured borders and reverse-printed corporate branding.
Easy-peel field replacement
The easy-peel 3M adhesive lets a worn protector be swapped on the shop floor in seconds. Order in bulk for a fleet, or keep spares on hand.

Frequently asked questions
What are your touchscreen protectors made from?
We make our industrial touchscreen protector overlays from MacDermid Autotype hard-coated polyester - the same durable material we use for our graphic overlay panels - not the thin films sold for phone screens. See Graphic Overlays.
Will a protector reduce glare on the screen?
Yes. We offer anti-glare and anti-reflective polyester options (MacDermid Autotype EBA) so the display stays readable, including in bright and outdoor environments.
Will it fit my touchscreen - capacitive or resistive?
Yes. Protectors are custom-cut to fit any standard touchscreen terminal to engineering tolerances of plus or minus 0.2mm, and work with both capacitive and resistive touchscreens.
How is it attached, and how do I replace it?
With an easy-peel 3M adhesive. A damaged protector can be swapped on the shop floor in seconds with no downtime, and you can buy in bulk for a fleet of terminals or keep a spare on hand.
Does a protector actually prevent damage?
The protector takes the scratches, scuffs and impacts so your touchscreen terminal does not. It is always better, and usually cheaper, to replace a damaged protector than a damaged terminal.
Can I add coloured borders or corporate branding?
Yes. Protectors can include coloured borders and corporate branding, reverse-printed (second surface) so the ink cannot be scratched off in service.
Where are your touchscreen protectors made?
Designed and manufactured at our Clontarf facility in Brisbane, Australia.
Need a touchscreen protector designed
and made in Australia?
Send us the terminal or the display dimensions, and we will cut a protector to suit.
