A silver lining of the Covid-19 pandemic is that companies and governments alike are beginning to see the benefits of supporting the Australian manufacturing industry. Over the past three years, the federal government has undergone significant changes by awarding grants and introducing new legislations in an effort to boost the manufacturing industry. From this, we are seeing a major shift as new entrepreneurial technological advancements are coming to our soil.
Consumer landscapes are a dynamic environment. They are continuously evolving while businesses are adjusting to the new normal. Manufacturers and industrial companies across the world are working hard to maintain and strengthen their supply chains. And companies that preferred to source internationally to save on costs, are seeking other cost-effective solutions. While not only benefiting the local economy, supplying locally now is putting money back in your pocket. Australia is a continuously growing nation with unprecedented potential across all industries. Every day, more businesses are making the switch in their supply chain. Here are some additional benefits your business may need:
Quality Control and Reassurance
It is well known that sourcing materials from overseas may cost less. Although unfortunately with this tyrant, in most cases, these materials are of poor quality and inevitably in the future, your business will have to pay for repairs and or replacement. From a financial standpoint, it costs less to buy a higher quality material once as opposed to buying a poor-quality material two or even three times over.
Faster and Simpler Communication
Sourcing locally has plenty of benefits but being geographically closer to your supplier always takes the cake. Finding an appropriate time to communicate with your offshore supplier can cause communication gaps that will negatively impact the business, further creating lag time for urgent and time-sensitive tasks. If your business is deadline-driven, it is crucial for all your suppliers to be fast and effective communicators.
No Hidden Fees
Foreign regulations, hidden costs, and high logistic fees. What is it? and how can your business avoid it? When sourcing internationally, it is extremely important to read the fine print. Manufacturing regulatory standards are different across the globe therefore, your product could potentially be in jeopardy. Buying stock offshore also comes at a high cost, logistic fees and international taxes can come as a surprise and significantly increase overall product charges.
Secure IP
Keeping your IP secure is crucial for your product to succeed in its market. Sharing confidential information with offshore suppliers can lead to your product being copied and even stolen. Security risks encompass physical product and private data leaks across the board. Outside of copyrights, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets, you can help protect your intellectual property by ensuring your supplier is trusted and has security prevention technologies.

Have you ever operated heavy equipment, worked in an assembly line, or used sensors and other related technologies? If you have, then you’ve probably seen and touched the printed graphic surface on the internal electronics of a product or tool. That surface is called a graphic overlay. Graphic overlays protect the sensitive components and materials of an electronic instrument or machine from wear and tear and elements like dust, rain, and snow. If your company needs graphic overlays, here’s why you need to get in contact with Reid Print Technologies.
Building Printed Electronics Since 1990
If you need graphic overlays and other forms of printed electronics, turn to the experts at Reid Print Technologies. The company was established in 1990 in Clontarf, Queensland and has been producing graphic overlays, flexible printed sensors, membrane keypads, wearable, stretchable electronics, and more for manufacturing and industrial applications.

They help to create warning symbols meant to be seen when the graphic panel is illuminated. At Reid Print Technologies, overlay panels are designed and made to stand the test of time in manufacturing and working environments.
Various Embossing Options for Overlay Panels
One of the best reasons to have graphic overlays made from Reid Print Technologies is that they utilize thermal embossing technology. This technology lets them emboss intricate designs and patterns without cracking the crease line or damaging the base material.
Several metal tooling embossing techniques can cause cracking at the crease line, resulting in moisture ingress and premature wear and tear. The damage can lead to a shorter life expectancy of button flexibility and reduced product or machinery longevity.
Reid Print Technologies approaches its work in designing and manufacturing graphic overlays and other printed electronics by applying its knowledge to their client’s internal way of doing work.
All staff members understand that to maximize the success of their products, they need to shape their expert advice to how their clients do business.
Reid Print Technologies continues to grow, thanks to the confidence and support that their clients have in them.

We are very excited to share with you that our technology has made its way over to Belgium. The product pictured is an electric vehicle charging station, one of 25 positioned along Belgium’s motorway system, linking the country’s major cities. These stations can charge two vehicles at the same time and drivers can expect to charge 80 per cent of their battery in just 30 minutes.
For this product, we have supplied a membrane switch and acrylic backing panel as the interface which, put simply, is the black part that you can see in the middle of the unit with the buttons. As you can see, the charging station is up against harsh weather conditions, in this case, snow. Worth noting is its unique liquid-cooled technology, which enables the Veefil-RT to operate in such extreme temperatures. It’s incredibly important to us that we can meet the high standards required of us by our customers. We are pleased that we can illustrate how we provide solutions for world-class technology with particularly robust specifications including the ability to withstand harsh conditions.
The charging stations within this network are easy to use and accessible to all drivers, making this project a key component of the modernisation of transport infrastructure across the EU. Being part of a project that makes it feasible for electric car drivers to travel from Scotland to Genoa in Italy or Brussels in Belgium, using public charging to support their journeys, is certainly something that we are pleased to be involved with.
